![]() In August, 2008 I adopted 2 orphaned kitten sisters from Cat Tail Rescue Shelter. Apparently these 2 girls were orphaned at 2 weeks old when their mother was killed by a car. Foster parents took them in and kept them well until they were 3 months old and then they joined the other adoptable cats for adoption. I took them home and they adapted right away. Taking to me as "Mom", they cuddled right to me. Crying if they lost their way back to me after a trip to the litter box. The solid brown tabby, I named her "Carys", which in Greek is "Graceful". Carys will jump anywhere, from the floor to a top shelf or the tall boy dresser... She is also a little princess...She is a fussy eater, she insists she has to snooze on the highest perch, and she loves to be pampered! She is also a Mom figure, she loves taking care of Alyssa when she comes to visit, and always thinks I need to be bathed! Carys also prefers to drink water from her paws at the bathroom sink, she knocks over the water dishes for some reason. Carys has also joined me a couple times in the shower, but doesn't like the direct spray of the water on her! Carys' sister has white paws and tummy. I named her "Neila". Which in African dialect is "head strong". Neila is VERY stubborn. I can correct her over and over about staying off the kitchen table and there she is, on top yet again! Neila doesn't meow like a typical cat, she actually sounds more like a trumpet, or like a baby elephant...And she is the tom-boy of the 2. She loves to rough house and tends to play more actively with toys. Neila also like to pose for photos and can be quite the ham! She also likes to climb into bags and the corners of fitted sheets, I tell her she should have been a kangaroo, or I should have named her "Joey" (for baby kangaroo) |
