My grandfather was a veterinarian, and I followed in his footsteps. I graduated with honors from WCVM in 1978, and have enjoyed practicing at McPhillips Animal Hospital since then. I have 3 dogs, a German Shepherd named Tabu, a Yorkshire Terrier cross named Polly, and a Shih Tzu named Suzie. In my spare time, I enjoy golfing, gardening, and travelling.

I was born and raised in Medicine Hat, Alberta. My family always had pets of one kind or another, including a tarantula. Being a Veterinarian was something I wanted for myself. Starting in high school, I worked part time cleaning kennels at a Veterinary Clinic and loved being there. With a bit of luck and a lot of hard work, I was able to join the best profession on the planet. That said, a modern animal hospital is made up of a multitude of skilled professionals. I have been fortunate to find a group of caring and dedicated staff that let me focus on being the best Veterinarian I can be. Their dedication, help and skill lets me enjoy my profession even more. While attending Veterinary school at the University of Saskatchewan, I met and married another Veterinarian. We relocated to Manitoba after graduating from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. Right now we are blessed with 3 beautiful kids, two cats, and a Labrador. In my spare time I enjoy TV shows like Dr. Phil and Oprah, but you'll more likely find me in a rink with all the other Ringette and Hockey Moms. I especially enjoy rabbit and pocket pet medicine. The very best thing about being a Veterinarian is watching my human clients enjoying their animal family members. What could be a more rewarding career than helping families enjoy a long, healthy life together?

I first came to McPhillips Animal Hospital with my family when I was a child. In caring for my pets, I began to appreciate the importance of an animal's health and well being; and from that became sensitive to the needs that animals cannot put into words. I attended the U of W, and then went on to study at the WCVM. I have a special interest in feline medicine, geriatric medicine and opthamology. I have 2 cats, Felix and Jinx, and enjoy running and volleyball.

After graduating from high school in Atokokan, Ontario, I traveled out west and 6 years later found myself enrolled in post-secondary community colleges in Cranbrook, BC. While a student there, I was often exposed to veterinary medicine while boarding at a farm. I got to help the vet on many occasions. I couldn't get enough of it! During the last 2 years of my Bachelor of Sciences studies in Agriculture at Guelph, I worked the summers with exotic animals at the African Lion Safari in Cambridge, ON. I attended Ross University of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts, Caribbean Islands for 1 year, and then transferred over to the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon for completion of my DVM degree. I enjoy the challenges and rewards of veterinary medicine, especially all aspects of small animal surgery and have gained an immense appreciation for the human/animal bond. Away from work, my hobbies and interests include aviation (currently building my own plane), and almost anything to do with the great outdoors (fishing, camping, boating, etc.). I've thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the "team" here at McPhillips Animal hospital since I came on board in 2006.

Born in the mountains of Romania, I grew up in a farm-like setting. My parents used to have dairy, swine, sheep and poultry. Of course we always had dogs and cats around. Naturally I was interested in their health status, in helping with their examinations, sample taking and treatments. Even though I studied history and literature, then mathematics and physics, to become a veterinarian was a continuous, gradual progress. I graduated from the veterinary college in Timisoara, Romania, in 1993. I practiced in mixed animal clinics in Europe, then later on in Canada. I joined McPhillips Animal Hospital in 2008 and found a very professional and dedicated team here. I am very happy to put my very best knowledge and experience at work to improve the level of life of our extended family members.

I have been with McPhillips Animal Hospital since November 2007. I love all animals but especially our furry four legged companions who have wet noses and wag their tails. I grew up with our Cocker Spaniel "Sparky" for 15 years whose companionship made me realize how special pets are. My newest addition is Bella, a spunky Pomeranian and I also have Krazy Kia my Siberian Husky, and "Duckie", a Mastiff cross. I really enjoy seeing new animals every day and getting to know them and their owners.

I am currently enrolled in High School, and enjoy every minute of it. I have been involved with McPhillips Animal Hospital ever since I could walk. I volunteered here for a year from 2006-2007, and am now working here since November 2007. My dream is to be a veterinarian. There has been a history of Animal Technologists and Veterinarians in my family, therefore giving me great experiences with caring for animals. I have known from the start this is what I want to do for the rest fo my life. I give special thanks to my father and Auntie Rhonda for showing me the joy animals can bring not just to their owners but to others as well. Also, they are the main people who are helping my dream to come true. I have 5 animals at home: my cats Trashie, Pumpkin, and "Mad" Max; and my Golden Retrievers, Majik and Mountain.

Since December 2008, I have been extremely fortunate to be working as a receptionist for McPhillips Animal Hospital. It brings me great joy to be able to spend most of my days working with very knowledgeable staff who care and go out of their way for animals everyday. Soon I hope to attend the Animal Health Technology course at Red River, but until then I'm very happy to be apart of this dedicated team. Right now I have a beautiful Black Labrador named K.D. and a Chihuahua named Chico, who are my world, and I also enjoy taking care of other animals such as Rocky, my cousin's 'handsome' Bull Mastiff.

I started out at McPhillips Animal Hospital when they baby sat me while Dr. Gould was in Africa. I had such a good time meeting clients and their pets that I begged to stay! I especially love to admire the bird in the mirror and sing sweet songs to him.

I came in looking for someone to adopt me. I curled up in the doctor's office, and have been there ever since. I like to hide away in secret spots around the clinic, so you might not be able to spot me!
